Lately there have been lots of rumors about a reported breakup with her boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, but her spirits seem to be high. I must say, I'm really loving this look on her. The floral dress mixed with a black blazer and black ankle boots is very Kate Moss, but it still works on sweet Reese!

Why the Hermes Birkin Bag Costs So Much Money

I was recently reading an article about Victoria Beckham's style, and one of the things mentioned was her Hermes collection. The article also stated that she pays tens of thousands of dollars for each bag! I guess that's like pocket change for posh spice, but it made me think about the obscene price of these bags and why this is so.

If you look through eBay, the average Hermes Birkin bag costs between $7,000 and $12,000. And this is without any custom-made features! How can this be? It all comes down to craftmanship. Birkin bags are made out of the finest and most exotic leather and precious metal, and they are hand made by craftsmen in France. It actually takes around 48 hours just to make one, so this is why the waiting list is years long.

Typically, the exterior features of a Birkin bag are made out of leather or crocodile skin, but crocodile skin tends to cost way more because the saltwater crocodiles they use aren't easy to come by. The interior lining is manufactured from goat skin that is specially tanned to match the color of the exterior. The signature lock, keys, buckle, and feet studs that adorn the bags are also made with precious metals such as gold or palladium.

Despite the fact that an Hermes Birkin bag is expensive, I would still highly recommend purchasing one because it is one of the few bags that actually appreciates in value over time. Usually, a bag only retains resale value as long as it is considered to be an "it" bag. In this case, you can spend $5,000 on a brand new birkin and expect to resell it for a hefty profit.

Lindsay Lohan emerged as a lovable child star in flicks such as The Parent Trap II and Life-Size. These days however, she's become TMZ's favorite accident waiting to happen...literally. It seems like everytime I turn around, she's either stumbling out of a night club with BFF Samanta Ronson, or vowing sobriety the next morning. Either way, j'adore vraiment her style.

Lindsay Lohan Leggings. This should be her official title or something. Yet another one of her signatures is the ever-present leggings paired with a leather boot. No matter how often she dons this combo, it never seems to get old. Completely unfair. If I wore leggings even half as much as she does, I would never hear the end of it.



The last, and probably most recognizable facet of the Lindsay Lohan Look is the chameleon-esque transformation. In other words, one day she's a red-head, the next day she has Audrey Hapburn black hair, and the next day she's Miami platinum blonde! She gets to live the best of three worlds! NOT FAIR.

The funniest (if not saddest) part about Lindsay Lohan's little shopping habit is that she's going broke!!! MediaTakeOut.com states that Ms. Lohan has nearly spent all of her $30M by shopping it all away! I can't even imagine how someone who dresses so casually (note the leggings-boots-tshirt uniform mentioned above), can spend even 1/3 of that.

Anyway, Lohan is now reportedly on a $1,000 a day budget. She is often seen putting dresses, bags, etc. on hold and waiting until the next day to purchase them in order to stick to this budget. $1,000/day is pretty staggering to us average non-celebrities since it equals out to $365,000 a year...on clothes! I would consider that a pretty handsome salary, but I guess when you're used to wearing $2,000 Chanel handbags, I suppose this budget could take some getting used to. After all, Britney Spears is known to spend over $16,000 a month to ensure that she doesn't wear the same thing twice.
