Miley Cyrus is the Most Famous Teenager in the Universe

Miley Cyrus's real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus, but her parents famously changed it to 'Miley' because she smiled a lot as a child. Get it? Smiley - "S" = Miley. Anyway, Miley Cyrus is a singer, actress, and songwriter, but she didn't officially reach teen phenom status until the start of her hit show Hannah Montana. In the show, she plays a teenager creatively named Miley Stewart, who lives a double life as a superstar pop singer named Hannah Montana. It's a bit contrived, but hey, Disney tweens aren't exactly an astute bunch.

However, I suppose Miley deserves a little bit of credit for her acting chops because she's guest starred on her father's (that's Billy Ray Cyrus just in case you're living on the moon) TV series Doc, and she played Ruthie in Tim Burton's Big Fish. But thanks to her role on Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has been firmly established as a powerhouse in the pop industry. She's released two albums (Hannah Montana and Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus), and her Best of Both Worlds tour with the Jonas Brothers was so popular, a ticket could've easily set you back thousands of dollars!

Miley and her family are such good role models that it's hard not to be happy for all of their success. The "good girl" image that has made Miley rich also transcends into her fashion. She's very well dressed, but she doesn't try to look like an exotic dancer on the red carpet like Paris Hilton.
For example, check her out in a white Dorothy Perkins top, darkwash skinny jeans, and a pair of suede Uggs.
Here she is imitating one of the Olsen twins with an eclectic mixture of patterns and colors all worn at once with a pair of Azzedine Alaia gladiator sandals.

$1,124.00
Despite the fact that she's only 15 years old, Miley Cyrus has become an expert at the art of getting glamorous for a swanky event and making herself look waaaayyy older than she really is. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Anyway, she absolutely dazzled at the 2008 Oscars in a red Valentino gown, Neil Lane jewelry, and a clutch by Mary Norton.

...And again at the 2008 Grammys in a vintage-looking white dress by Celine and shoes by Sergio Rossi.

Is Balenciaga the New Black?

Balenciaga this, Balenciaga that...
Until just a couple of years ago, this brand was completely unbeknownst to me. Thankfully, I've seen the light. Balenciaga=beauty. I have to credit Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (my personal fashion icons) for bringing the avant-garde/fashion forward Balenciaga look to my attention. I actually remember reading about one of the Olsens (can't remember which one) gushing about Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière. In fact if I remember correctly, they worship Nicolas Ghesquiere. Understandable.

Here's Mary-Kate Olsen sporting Balenciaga booties.

$799.99

Ghesquiere is known for his ability to create a silhouette and creating a futuristic, yet strikingly modern look. However, Ghesquiere owes a debt of gratitude to celebs for bringing everyone's attention to this stunning brand. Specifically, the motorcycle bag.

Here's fashion and style maven Nicole Richie sporting a yellow Balenciaga Motorcycle bag.

$999

Balenciaga is also known for body-hugging, silhouette-accentuating gowns. For example, Cate Blanchett and Chloe Sevigny wore a couple of masterpieces to the MET Costume Institute Benefit Gala in 2007.

Nicolo Richie also reportedly swore by Balenciaga during her pregnancy stating, "I wore so much Balenciaga during my pregnancy... when my shirts got too short, I wore Joel's with a jacket on top..." She wore this black and white semi-zebra-striped gown to Fashion Rocks 2007 in NYC.

As of January, 2008, Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly is the new face of Balenciaga. I honestly can't say I'm surprised by this choice since Connelly has just the right face and figure to represent this brand. Not to mention, she has worn Balenciaga to perfection on multiple red carpets in the past.

Here she is wearing a dress from Balenciaga's spring collection...

And here is (in my opinion), Connelly in the best showcase of Balenciaga I've ever seen...The OSCARS!

Another huuuge (if not the hugest) celebrity to supportthe Balenciaga brand is easily Nicole Kidman. Not only did she don a Balenciaga original to the Oscars, but also to her wedding! Talk about ENDORSEMENT. P.S. she looked stunning.
